Coby Bloemsma

I have loved drawing and painting all my life but since my retirement at the age of 55, this love has become a daily passion. I studied art at High School in Australia and attented a Fashion School in Holland. During my working career in Public Relations in Holland, I enjoyed learning many different techniques during art classes in my spare time.

My husband and I moved to Spain in 2010. I am a member of ANEDA art group in Nerja and of Torrox Fine Artists.

I paint portraits and figures from live models to try and capture something of their personality. Recently I am into collage, often using my old drawings and paintings to cut, tear and paste to create abstract works. I find it all fascinating and I am forever searching, trying to let go of fixed ideas, experimenting with style and colour.

I also make 3 dimensional objects in papier mache or with recycled materials.
